Dr. Christoph Brüssel
While studying law and politics, Christoph Brüssel began working as a freelance reporter and presenter for various public broadcasters. After graduating, he joined RIAS, where he was deputy programme director for RIAS 2. Brüssel has worked as a correspondent and presenter on radio and TV for private and public broadcasters such as WDR, NDR, ZDF, SAT.1 and Pro7. He later produced well-known entertainment programmes such as ‘Talk im Turm’ for SAT.1, game shows for RTL and Saturday evening entertainment shows for ARD (with Harald Schmidt as presenter). As a co-producer, Brüssel worked on several successful German-American TV films shot in Hollywood and produced music shows and CDs with international artists such as SEAL, Paul Young and others, which were broadcast in more than 30 countries. He has also been active in politics for more than 30 years in various roles at state and federal level.
From 2005 to 2009, Dr. Brüssel was also Federal Chairman of the Federal Association of Entrepreneurial SMEs (VSG, 13,000 member companies). Internationally, he is involved in the Senate of Economy Europe. He taught for 12 semesters at the University of Bonn at the Institute for Political Science and Sociology and is the editor and author of several publications on the subject of ecological and social market economy.
Dr Christoph Brüssel has been Chairman of the Board of the Senate of Economy Foundation since its establishment in 2017.
