The German Oral Health Foundation (DMS) organizes an annual day on which company employees can obtain detailed information about oral hygiene. There is also the opportunity to obtain personal advice from dental specialists if interested.
The day is divided into three parts. At the beginning, various lectures will be given by dentists and university professors on the subject of dental hygiene (approx. 45 minutes). The lectures will also present new scientific and relevant knowledge in dentistry in an exciting way. The aim is to sensitize participants to the importance of healthy oral hygiene.
The presentations are followed by an active workshop (approx. 25 minutes). In the workshop, participants are shown the best cleaning technique to refresh or confirm their knowledge. In addition, employees have the opportunity to ask questions and receive professional advice from the specialist staff.
The highlight of the day is the rapid test, which is carried out at the end of the day. This is able to make active periodontal inflammation visible to the testers. The tests are based on highly sensitive biomarker technology and the results are of course provided anonymously and with explanations from dentists. If required, a "referral letter" is handed out directly at this point, which enables/facilitates the staff to follow up the recommendations of the dentists.
Employers can also give their employees another treat with our offer of employer-financed company health insurance ("bKV-ZahnSpezial") and give them a smile. In this way, the financial barrier to treating ailments is significantly reduced and those affected are more likely to make an appointment. The offer can also be extended to relatives. Although they pay for the visit to their trusted dentist themselves, they can take advantage of it without a prior health check.
The costs of such an oral health day vary, but in order for it to take place at all, it must be ensured that there are 100-150 participants.
